This article exclusively analyzes the program “Time to learn”, highlighting learning resulting from the online course for teachers, the knowledge and strategies that act as obstacles to teaching practice in the literacy cycle, as well as the actions of children in situations of learning to read and write. It focuses, therefore, on learning about what it is not advisable for the literacy teacher to do, justifying the opposite orientation to that offered by the course formulators.
