Os desafios da pedagogia hospitalar e a garantia do direito à saúde e à educação da criança hospitalizada

This article addresses the importance of children’s health and education in hospitalization situations, aiming at investigating how education and playfulness have been guaranteed in hospital environments, since this is a child’s right. To fulfill the proposal, a qualitative research was carried out with bibliographic review and data collection by means of an interview with a hospital educator who works in a public hospital in the city of São Luís - MA. The interview responses were analyzed in the light of the selected academic production involving the intersection between health and education. The results pointed out that hospital teaching assistance is a fundamental activity for the child development, but that there are some difficulties to be solved in carrying out these actions in the hospital, including the improvement of material conditions so that pedagogical work can happen satisfactorily.
